Marketing is the driver of Valentine’s Day and in 2024 that’s no different.  The day dives into the emotions and motivation of social pressure and belonging because some are triggered by the desire to connect and fit in.  It also reminds us of FOMO for the older generation listening that’s the Fear of missing out.  So to capitalize this brands should choose alternate narratives around self-love, platonic relationships and focus on experiences not possessions.

The best thing for any marketing professional building a campaign that will reach consumers is to target the right emotions with messages that align and visuals with specific emotions you want to evoke like desire, joy, security and belonging.  Tailor to a specific person through personalization. And most importantly be authentic because the one stereotypical portrayal of love can get you canceled these days. Since it’s Valentine’s Day already, I figured I’d share my favorite Valentine’s Day commercials for 2024.
