When VSmith Media, LLC officially opened in October 2017 our goal was to create an environment for learning. VSmith Media is currently looking for Graphic Design Intern to earn class credit at Southwest Tennessee Community College for a GART Elective requirement.

Victoria Smith, owner and digital specialist, is a graduate of Southwest Tennessee Community College in Graphic Arts Technology and wants to pay it forward to other students.  She believes that networking and paying forward her success only brings further rewards to the city of Memphis and Mid-South. Candidates should be registered students at Southwest as well as eligible to earn credit for a GART elective as part of their graduation path.

Availability for a full semester; summer, fall or spring requested. Schedule is flexible to fit their class and personal schedules, but candidate should be responsible to fill at least 8 hours a week for the Summer 1 & Summer 2.

Summer semester May 30 – August 7

Fall Semester August 28 – December 7

Position Summary:

Available to Southwest Tennessee Community College GART students!

The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for providing support for the agency through a variety of channels, print, digital, web, and other as assigned. The Graphic Design intern will report to the agency owner and will assist with the development and design of core VSmith Media graphics, collateral event materials and a variety of other creative tasks as assigned.


The Graphic Design Intern’s primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare images to coincide with social and blog posts
  • Assist with website and blog updates via WordPress
  • Assist with collateral updates and version control
  • Creation and updates to various sales collateral
  • Other projects as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • Excellent computer knowledge for both MAC and PC environments
  • Must be proficient in basic design programs including Adobe Creative Suite and knowledge of video editing software.
  • Writing and proofing skills are also required.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and administrative skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames
  • Organized, dependable and detail oriented
  • Team Player
  • Quick Learner and Efficient
  • High sense of urgency
  • Able to work well under pressure
